Research direction

Start by reproducing the failure with Npcap 1.78 on Windows 11, VMware Workstation Pro 17.5.1, and a GNS3 nested VM. Compare ping and host connectivity with WinPcap installed, using the reported configuration and image as the starting evidence. Done means identifying the Npcap-specific cause or a confirmed limitation and documenting the result.
