Tech Debt
There are duplicate copies of session.proto in the repo, one from ni-apis and one from nimi-python. See this README.
We want to single source this in ni-apis, but we need to do it in lock step with nimi-python and nidaqmx-python so there are no conflicts.

Research direction
Start with ni_measurementlink_service/_internal/stubs/proto/README.md and inspect the local session.proto copy and its relationship to ni-apis. Coordinate the change with nimi-python and nidaqmx-python so all repositories consume the ni-apis version; done means the duplicate is removed without conflicts across the three repositories.
