FW579-RD1081-112v2.zip did not work, but new firmware 5.8.22 from Asus works

Updating my Xtion Pro (601) on Win10 with the FW579-RD1081-112v2.zip did not work.

But Asus is offering a new self-extracting firmware flasher WUpdate_RD108x-5.8.22.exe (v 5.8.22 2013-11-05) on their [support site (select Windows 8.1 64-bit) ](http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Xtion+PRO&os=) that I used to successfully flash my device.
