Description

Follow-up from PR #52

Current problems

  • The day-by-day open/closed issues chart doesn't provide clear insights
  • Missing a total issues over time visualization

Proposed improvements

  1. Remove or redesign daily open/closed chart

    • Current implementation shows daily fluctuations but lacks actionable insights
    • Consider removing entirely or replacing with more meaningful visualization
  2. Add cumulative issues chart

    • Show total open issues over time
    • Show total closed issues over time
    • Could be a stacked area chart or line chart

Acceptance criteria

  • Daily open/closed chart either removed or replaced with better visualization
  • New chart showing cumulative issue totals over time
  • Clear visual representation of issue trends and backlog growth

Research direction

Start by reviewing PR #52 and the current Issues page visualizations. Decide whether the daily open/closed chart should be removed or redesigned, then define the cumulative open and closed issue trends; done means the daily chart is addressed and the new backlog visualization clearly represents issue totals over time.
