Enlarge the voice message button area while recording / add recording without keeping the button pressed

It frequently happens that, when sending a voice message, if one doesn't use the very end of their finger to keep the record button pressed but the center of the finger pad (the fingerprint part, which is softer and less precise than the fingertip) the recording stops. This may be due to a small button area during recording.

**Describe the solution you'd like**
A solution for this in my opinion would be a larger button area while recording.
A good addition would be an interface that also allows to lift your finger while recording, like those that Telegram and Whatsapp have introduced a few years back:

Always using your fingertip? May not be possible.
