Description

Hello,

we have multiple rooms with a lot of people in them. Each time somebody starts a call in those, all phones ring -- in some use cases this might be good, but not in all.

  1. Can we have a "turn off ringing for all rooms" setting? (and still get chat notifications with sound)
  2. Can we also have a "turn off ringing for this room" setting?
  3. Or can we use the notifications settings in Talk web view (all messages / only mentions / none) to determine if the phone should ring?

Maybe there are already relevant issues here, I could not find them..

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are mentioned in the issue. Start by locating the existing Android call and chat notification settings, then determine how global and per-room ringing preferences should interact with Talk web notification choices; done means the selected ringing behavior works without disabling chat sounds.
