Description
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
-
I realy like the new User column! It would be greate to make the entry clickable and link to the users profile and/or the available contact information.
-
I would like to replace some contact-link-columns with user columns. The problem i am facing is the case of a person with no existing account. For a Link-column i just enable URL and contacts. If i enter a name for that no contact exists i just treat it as a link. This Link leads nowhere but at least there is a name in the table until i create the corresponding contact. If the user-column would provide a feature for that edge-case it would enable a lot of realworld scenarios.

Research direction
No files or tests are named. Start by locating the User/Groups column implementation and the existing Link-column behavior, then determine how profile links and non-existing-account fallbacks should work. Done means both requested cases are supported and verified in the relevant column UI.
