Description

The problem

Sometimes it is quite hard to work with talk conversations, because internal and especially external users are not looking for updates in their talk rooms, especially if they are not using nextcloud regularly. Then you have to send them manually emails to remember to watch the conversation or bring them back which is quite inefficient.

How could this be changed?

My suggest is to send a summary of conversation updates once a day to them to "pull" them in, like some forums do, such as Discourse. For internal users this could be optional and configurable in the config section. Maybe this could also be addressed to the activity app.

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are identified in the issue. Start by locating Talk's conversation-update notification flow and the Activity app integration; done means daily summaries reach external users and optionally configured internal users without requiring manual reminders.
