Description
⚠️ This issue respects the following points: ⚠️
- This is not a troubleshooting question, general support matter, or webserver/proxy problem, but likely a bug (if unsure, ask the Community Help Forum).
- This issue is not already reported on Github OR solved at the Community Help Forum (I've searched!).
- I'm using a maintained major version of Nextcloud Server and tested against the latest patch level. (Supported major versions and current patch levels).
- I agree to follow Nextcloud's Code of Conduct.
- I've tried my best to provide clear reproduction steps that someone unfamiliar with this bug could use to reproduce it.
Bug description
When multiple files are uploaded in the Nextcloud Files web interface, the upload status information in the top toolbar is not fully visible. The upload continues, but the user cannot reliably read the remaining time, progress, or other status details.
This makes it difficult to determine whether the upload is still running, how much time remains, or whether the transfer has stalled.
The upload status is truncated or otherwise not fully visible in the top toolbar. In the attached screenshot, the status text is cut off after the estimated remaining time and percentage, for example:
00:03:59 remaining (29.7...
The screenshot also shows a 5 GB file in the destination folder while the upload is still in progress. The upload indicator is visible only in the toolbar and does not expose the complete status information.
Users cannot reliably monitor a batch upload from the Files interface. This is particularly problematic for large uploads or uploads containing many files.
Environment
- Nextcloud version:
34.0.3.2(version string:34.0.3) - Nextcloud Desktop client version:
34.0.3 - Browser: Safari or Microsoft Edge
- Operating system:
Linux wkpi1005 6.18.39+rpt-rpi-2712 #1 SMP PREEMPT Debian 1:6.18.39-1+rpt1 (2026-07-29) aarch64 GNU/Linux - Installation method: native server installation
- Theme: default
- Screen resolution:
2560x1440 - Maintenance mode: disabled
- Database upgrade required: no
Steps to reproduce
- Open the Files app in Nextcloud.
- Open a folder where the files should be uploaded.
- Start uploading multiple files at the same time.
- Observe the upload status shown in the top toolbar while the files are being transferred.
Expected behavior
The upload status should remain fully visible and readable while multiple files are uploading. The interface should provide enough space to display the relevant information, such as:
- current upload progress;
- the number of files completed and still pending;
- the estimated remaining time
- transfer speed;
- any upload errors.
If the available space is insufficient, the status could be displayed in a dedicated upload panel, a tooltip, or another clearly discoverable UI element. It should not be silently clipped.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue in the Files app with multiple simultaneous uploads, using Safari or Microsoft Edge, and observe the upload status in the top toolbar. Trace the UI entry point responsible for that status and check how it behaves at the reported screen size. Done means progress, file counts, remaining time, speed, and errors remain readable without silent clipping.
