Description

Hi,

Today Nextcloud only allows enforcing sharing link expiration globally.
There is no way to enforce a default expiration (e.g. 60 days) based on group membership, which is a common enterprise use case.
Example:

Internal users (group Internal) → long or no enforced expiration
External users (group External) → automatic expiration after X days

This was already requested in #26595, but the capability is still missing.
Password enforcement already supports group-based exceptions; expiration should offer the same flexibility.
Is this feature planned, or can it be reconsidered?

Thanks.

Research direction

No files or tests are named. Start by reviewing the existing global sharing-link expiration and group-based password-enforcement behavior, then compare the request with #26595; done requires an agreed, testable design for group-specific expiration defaults.
