Nextcloud Hub is a powerful platform, but there is currently a reliability gap regarding password management. While community-led apps exist, they lack official support from the Nextcloud team.

The problem is not a lack of features, but a lack of a support guarantee. When the Nextcloud Server moves to a new major version, community apps often break or face long delays before they are updated. This forces users to choose between a secure, updated server and access to their passwords. For a "Hub" that prides itself on data sovereignty, having no officially supported path for credentials is a significant risk.

Describe the solution you'd like
I would like to see a Password Management app become an officially supported part of the Nextcloud ecosystem. This does not necessarily mean the Nextcloud team has to write all the code, but rather that they provide supervision and support (similar to the model used for apps like Talk).

The goal is to have an app that:

• Is "Nextcloud Supported": The core team ensures the app is compatible with every major server release.

• Undergoes Official Audits: The app is included in the Nextcloud security umbrella and HackerOne program.

• Has a Maintenance Guarantee: If a community developer is unable to update the app, the Nextcloud team provides the necessary oversight to ensure the app remains functional for the community.

Describe alternatives you've considered

1. Purely Community Maintenance: As we have seen with various password apps in the past, relying solely on volunteer time leads to compatibility gaps during major Nextcloud version jumps.

2. External Solutions: Moving to a different platform for passwords fragments the user experience and removes the benefit of having a single, integrated Nextcloud environment.

Additional context
By providing official supervision for a password application, Nextcloud would ensure that one of the most sensitive parts of a user's digital life is never left behind during a platform upgrade.
