[Bug]: User account search closes when first character is removed

Bug description

Customer ticket

the search in the user account view closes as soon as you remove the first character.
to continue a search, you need to press the search icon again to reopen it.

Steps to reproduce

When you backspace to the begining to retype your text it clears the box and you have to select the magnifying glass again. This is extremely anoying.

Expected behavior

The search box should close when you hit the X. Not when you backspace and remove all the text.

Start by locating the user account view's search entry point and reproduce the behavior by removing the first character until the field is empty. The search should remain open when text is removed and close only when the X control is used; verify the fix in the affected account-search flow.
