Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue in the Files app sharing tab with sharing via mail enabled, entering "test@m". Trace the search result handling for the mail-sharing suggestion; done means incomplete addresses no longer produce the suggestion, while a complete format such as "test@x.x" does.
