Description

I was wodering, why the page stops displaying if there is an update available, until I found out, that the app "update notification" was disabled.

Better there should be a note, of the disabled status on the page to avoid this

Research direction

The issue concerns the administration settings page and the app update notification setting. Start by locating where that page handles a disabled update notification; done means the page clearly indicates that the notification is disabled instead of silently omitting the update information.
