Hi all,
Was just discussing with a colleague how great it would be if, like Xbox, you could choose a device you wanted to change the sync preferences for, similar to picking which Xbox or computer you wanted to download a Microsoft Store item to. I guess it's also similar to using the Google Play website via the browser for picking which device you want to install an app on. Would make sorting those overnight syncs much easier when you get sent an unexpectedly large file and don't want to waste time sat in front of it, waiting for it to download.
On Element (the Matrix client), there's a Labs beta currently to be able to remotely change settings on other sessions for stuff like push notifications if your device in another room or on charge, or elsewhere, is annoying you or someone else. Seems a no-brainer to extend this kind of thinking to getting ahead with file syncs on NC.
Describe the solution you'd like
The ability to choose what files/folders sync on other devices from other clients and even the Nextcloud web app would be great too.

Research direction
No files, tests, or entry points are identified in the issue. Begin by defining how the server, other clients, and the web app would coordinate per-device file and folder sync selections; done would mean users can change those selections remotely.
