Media folders shared to a group don't show up in the photos app

Hello,
Version used: NC 18.0.1 upgraded from NC17; Using LDAP backend.
When sharing a normal, non group folder, with a LDAP group of people, it won't show up in the photos app for the people the folder has been shared with.
When sharing the same folder with an individual in said group, the folder will show up in their "Shared Folder" category within the Photos app.
This unfortunaltey breaks media viewing for our entire organisation. Happy to help to debug further if further information is required.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue in the Photos app with a normal folder shared to an LDAP group, comparing it with the same folder shared to an individual group member. Investigate why the group-shared folder is absent from the recipient’s Shared Folder category. Done means media folders shared through LDAP groups appear for the intended recipients.
