Description

I make a lot of tutorials with screen casts for my co-workers. They don´t have Nextcloud so I want to share my NC notes with them. Of course sharing a note itself works perfectly fine.

Whenever I link to an internal (but shared publicly) video file in one of those shared notes I can see the link preview, the video is shown inline. That is, when I am logged in! However I cannot seem to be able to get a video shown inline when using the public url of the note. This does make sense to me since I use an internal link. So I though maybe I can just link to a video's public link but that won´t work either.

I could always add the video as an attachment but then it is being treated as a download.

I am missing something or is this just not possible right now?

Research direction

Start by reproducing the difference between a logged-in shared note and its public URL using an internal shared video link and the video's public link. Compare how each video is rendered, and consider the work complete when a publicly shared note can show the linked video inline rather than treating it only as a download.
