Research direction

Reproduce the issue in the Notes Android app using the alternating plain-edit and rich-edit sequences described, with the listed app and server versions where possible. Trace the editor mode-switching and conflict handling from that reproduction; done means switching modes repeatedly without the conflict dialog and without losing changes.
