App has stopped syncing and has not fully resumed

Description
I was running nextcloud 15 until yesterday, but now I'm on v20. 2 weeks ago I found my iOS app stopped syncing, but was fine for years before. I found the app has resetted itself to default settings. I guess there was a broken release published in September 2020 and got automatically installed.
I re-enabled syncing in the app, but the app has not resumed from September where it stopped. It started to sync in mid december when I re-enabled it + a short time before.
That means my iphone X has not synced between mid September and mid December 2020. The files are missing on the server. That is a serious problem as there are important files inside I need to backup.
How can I tell the ihone to sync the missing files or do a full resync so everything is back in sync?
