File provider extension does not provide access to folders for 3rd party apps

Description
Currently, the Nextcloud iOS App’s "file provider extension" does not provide access to folders for third party apps.
I know that most cloud service provider apps (e.g. iCloud, DropBox) have the same limitation, but some do it well (e.g. "Working Copy").
Is there a way that Nextcloud iOS app could be modified to provide folder level access?
Reasoning or why should it be changed/implemented?
I'm using Quine app for TiddlyWikis that are stored in a Nextcloud instance and opened on iDevice via FilesApp. Quine then needs access to folders of 3rd party apps in order to load content from there.
