Description

Hello,

I am using Nextcloud Hub 10 (version 31.0.8). After the automatic update of the
“Guests” app to version 4.6.x, I am unable to create new guest shares.

I consistently get the error:
“Failed to create share”

This is a known bug in the Guests 4.6.x release: the app does not create the guest
user’s home directory correctly, so new guest invitations fail.

The solution is to revert the Guests app to the previous stable version (4.5.x).

Could you please replace the /apps/guests folder on the server with the Guests app
version 4.5.x?

This will restore guest sharing without affecting any existing data.

Thank you.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the /apps/guests installation and the reported change from Guests 4.5.x to 4.6.x, focusing on guest home-directory creation. Verify whether new guest invitations fail on Nextcloud Hub 10 version 31.0.8, and consider the report resolved when guest shares can be created again without affecting existing data.
