Description

I don´t know if this is a Bug or a Feature since im not too deep in the Nextcloud Ecosystem but thought this might be an interesting topic and maybe i am just doing something completely wrong when configuring.

Steps to Reproduce
Install and enable both Group Folders (nextcloud/groupfolders) and Activity (nextcloud/activity) apps.
Create a Group Folder and assign a user as Group Admin.
Perform file operations inside the Group Folder (e.g., upload, edit, delete).
Check the Recent Activity feed for the Group Admin.

Expected Behavior
The Group Admin should see recent activities related to files inside the Group Folder.

Actual Behavior
The Group Admin does not see any activity related to the Group Folder.

The issue persists even after:

  • Checking the Activity app settings.
  • Ensuring enable_group_folders is set to "yes".
  • Reinstalling the Activity and Group Folders apps.
  • Checking Nextcloud logs
  • Checking cron is running

System Information

  • Nextcloud Version: 30.0.0.14
  • Activity App Version: 3.0.0
  • Group Folders Version: 18.0.9

Research direction

Start by reproducing the reported steps with Nextcloud 30.0.0.14, Activity 3.0.0, and Group Folders 18.0.9, then inspect the Nextcloud logs while checking the Group Admin's Recent Activity feed. Done means file uploads, edits, and deletions in the Group Folder are visible to its Group Admin without changing the reported configuration.
