Description

Setup:

  • Nextcloud 14.0.3
  • CentOS 7.x
  • Apache/httpd
  • Postfix

When configuring NC14.0.3 with sendmail (php-mailer no longer works) you will face a situation where sendmail cannot access smtpd and postdrop. There seems not to be a default ruleset in centOS for this. Therefore you have to define your own selinux modules.

The documentation in https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/14/admin_manual/installation/selinux_configuration.html does not reflect this.

It would be awesome, if someone can have a look.

Research direction

Start with the SELinux configuration page at docs.nextcloud.com/server/14/admin_manual/installation/selinux_configuration.html and compare its instructions with the reported CentOS 7.x, Apache/httpd, and Postfix setup. Verify what is required for sendmail to access smtpd and postdrop; the documentation is done when it accurately explains the required configuration or custom SELinux modules.
