Description

_Nothing has changed since the [original issue #2889](https://github.com/nextcloud/desktop/issues/2889#event-15209690794) was filed in 2021, even with the now-current desktop client 3.14.3. That issue was closed for a mistaken reason. Since it seems unlikely to be reopened, I'm doing as requested._

### Expected behaviour

*"Automatically **check** for updates"* should check for updates, nothing more.

### Actual behaviour

I expect a checkbox that says "check" to be *informative* with no installation side-effect. However, "check for updates" here involves downloading the update and forcing an upgrade when the application restarts.

One of:

1. Keep "check" and perhaps add logic to optionally download and install.
2. Change the wording so that it says what it is going to do.
3. Provide a way to cancel the forced upgrade.

There are valid reasons to not want the update immediately, please allow me to retain control while remaining automatically-informed. Thank you.

### Client configuration
Client version: originally 3.1.1 ... and recently 3.14.3

Operating system: win10_64

OS language: english

Installation path of client: `C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs`
