Description

Describe the bug

Our Nextcloud installation is connected to LDAP for user authentication and groups. We were able to create a group in the contacts app and share it with certain group of users. Now recently we wanted to create a new group and share it again but it was not possible anymore. Sharing files with groups works. Sharing contacts with groups was also working previously, but we don't know where the problem occurred.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to Contacts
  2. In Settings at the bottom of the page create a new group
  3. Try sharing it with an LDAP group.

Expected behavior
LDAP group is not visible.

Actual behavior
Should be possible to share it.

Research direction

Start in Contacts by reproducing the issue through Settings: create a group and try sharing it with an LDAP group, using the listed Nextcloud 20.0.8 and Contacts 3.4.3 configuration. Compare contact-group sharing with file-group sharing and verify that LDAP groups become visible and can be selected.
