Hello, I'm yoyomiski (Hackerone platform).

  • I'm writing about this behavior here because it's not a security bug but seems to be by design.

  • If Team A enables the "Members need to accept invitation" feature and invites Team B to Team A, then (any member of Team B, even the owner of Team B) will not receive an invitation notification anywhere in "Notifications" to accept or decline the invitation.

  • As usual:

  • Nextcloud Server version: 32.0.5
  • Circles app version: 1.8.2

Research direction

Start by reproducing the Team A/Team B invitation flow with Circles 1.8.2 on Nextcloud Server 32.0.5, checking whether the invite appears in Notifications for a regular member and the team owner. Trace the invitation notification path and define done as both recipients being able to see and accept or decline the invitation.
