Description

Steps to reproduce
  1. in full screen event view of an event invite, click accept (possibly 5 or more attendees are needed to reproduce)
  2. nothing happens, no loading spinner. Am I supposed to close the editor?
  3. close the editor via x button
  4. Error "updating invitation failed"
  5. Then it turns out that accepting actually worked, event color changes to accepted state
Expected behavior

click accept, event editor closes automatically, event color switches to accepted state

closing an event during background processes should not result in errors

Actual behavior

see "to reproduce"

Research direction

Start with the full-screen event invitation view and its Accept action, reproducing with five or more attendees in Firefox. Trace the delayed update and editor-close path; done when accepting closes automatically, changes the event color, and closing during the background update does not report an error.
