Describe the Bug

Two viewers, the text app and the image preview viewer don't seem to play nice on one page.
Opening the image viewer by clicking the image in the generate image task replaces the text app to the viewer app if the assistant modal was opened from a smart picker in text.

Expected Behavior
To Reproduce
  • open the text app
  • use the smart picker to insert images
  • (assistant modal opens)
  • generate an image

the viewer is visible upon closing the assistant modal.

Research direction

Reproduce the flow through the text app, smart picker, assistant modal, image generation task, and image viewer. Confirm whether opening the generated image replaces the text app and remains visible after closing the assistant modal; a fix is complete when the text app remains available and the viewer behavior matches the intended interaction.
