Description
### ⚠️ Before posting ⚠️

- [x] I've [searched for similar issues](https://github.com/nextcloud/android/issues) and didn't find a duplicate.
- [x] I've written a clear and descriptive title for this issue, not just "Bug" or "Crash".
- [x] I agree to follow Nextcloud's [Code of Conduct](https://nextcloud.com/contribute/code-of-conduct/).
### Steps to reproduce
1. Install Nextcloud Android app (for example, Nextcloud Android Files 2026-02-19)
2. Log in
3. Open `On device` menu via Hamburger
4. Count time while empty list is loading
### Expected behaviour
Empty list loads instantly.
### Actual behaviour
It can take up to 25 seconds to load an empty list. However, if I download/cache some file, then `on device` list loads almost instantly.
