Description

The Nextcloud Android app currently requires users to either launch the full app or rely on the Android system share menu to upload files, which can be slow and involves multiple steps, especially for users who frequently back up screenshots, photos, documents, or other media throughout the day. To improve convenience and streamline the upload workflow, I would like to request the addition of a dedicated “Quick Share to Nextcloud” tile in the Android Quick Settings panel. With this feature, users could simply pull down the notification shade, tap a Nextcloud tile, and immediately choose a file to upload without navigating through the app interface or share dialogs. This would provide a much faster, more accessible, and more efficient way to upload content—benefiting power users, professionals, and anyone who regularly interacts with Nextcloud for quick backups or file transfers. Additionally, integrating this tile would align with modern Android UX patterns and enhance Nextcloud’s overall usability and accessibility on mobile devices.
