Description
If a simulation does not record any sensor hits, it does not write the sensor positions either. If this happens, the mc info writer receives an empty dataframe without column information and the hdf5 table will contain incorrect data types causing a mismatch when the next file is processed.
See the xfailed variant of test_buffy_empty_file.

Research direction
Start with the xfailed variant of test_buffy_empty_file and trace how Buffy processes a first file without sensor data. Inspect the mc info writer and its empty dataframe handling before the HDF5 table is created. Done means the test passes and subsequent files no longer encounter data-type mismatches.
