Description

Hi!

Is there a reason why the perm_blocks parameter of IndependenceTest.test() is not captured by the derived method of most of the independence tests, like HHG().test()? Can HHG or Hsic not be used for block-independent samples?

Cheers!

Research direction

Start by tracing the IndependenceTest.test() entry point and the derived HHG().test() and Hsic interfaces, focusing on how the perm_blocks parameter is handled. Determine whether block-independent samples are intended to be supported for HHG or Hsic; the issue is complete only once the supported behavior and required scope are established.
