Description
The purpose of opening this issue on Github is to track cases where Newton-Raphson iterations fail to converge for the purpose of having a set of test cases for assessing efforts to improve the convergence algorithm.
The model log file shows the following error message when the DGD Newton-Raphson iterations do not converge:
***ERROR: No starting points produced a valid solution.
The attached input deck is a single element model that produces the error.

Research direction
Start with the attached test_C3D8R_nonlinearShear13.inp.txt input deck and reproduce the model log error, “No starting points produced a valid solution.” Then inspect the DGD Newton-Raphson convergence algorithm and use this case as a test while assessing improvements; done is not defined beyond collecting cases and evaluating convergence.
