Description

Your idea

A niche but very useful technique when needed in harp writing is to position a pedal halfway between two points such that when a string of that pedal's note is plucked, it vibrates against its tuning disc to create a metallic buzzing sound.

Problem to be solved

There is no good way to achieve decent notation for pedal puzz. The closest workaround is to open the Master Palette and insert the "Combining harp string noise stem" symbol onto a note.

Prior art

This website documents the notation as follows, where the "noise symbol" is placed as an articulation along with the two pedal positions the pedal should be pressed between.

Additional context

If this were to be implemented fully, the system for harp pedal diagrams would likely have to be adjusted in order to support halfway pedal points.
