Description

Your idea

Since most notation print formats are portrait, a portrait video export would be very useful for video space usage. The format would also work better for playback on mobile devices.

Problem to be solved

The video export formats all rely on landscape. As pointed out in #33397 , this results in a lot of wasted screen space.

Additional context

The video export is proving quite valuable, so I would like to thank the team for this. Also, if there is a bounty system in use, I would be interested in contribute a small reward towards a pool for this issue (and potentially other video export features such as #33548, too).

Research direction

No files or tests are named. Start by tracing the existing video export entry point and review the related discussion in #33397. Define how portrait dimensions should be selected and verify that exported videos use the portrait format correctly, including mobile playback.
