Description

Your idea

Currently with MSS 4.7.2 variable fonts give you unexpected results with printing and PDF exporting. Mixtures of different font styles are correctly shown in the program but will give you PDFs that are in either one or the other style, resulting e.g. in all-bold text.

Problem to be solved

Unless the problem is addressed the program should at least have a way of reliably showing what it outputs (or doesn’t).

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by reproducing the variable-font styling mismatch in MuseScore Studio 4.7.2, comparing the WYSIWYG view with printed and PDF output; done means mixed font styles export consistently or the program reliably shows what will be output.
