Description

Your idea

I would need a feature to align text to the measure (not to a note or a pause)

If - for example - a bar is repeated 6 times (written out!), then in orchestral parts usually there is written "1 (–6)", "2", "3", ..., "6" over each of this bars (as shown in the attached PDF, for example bars 5–14 or 15–24)

It would be ok if the counting numbers still had to be typed in manually, but automatic positioning (just clicks on "centered" and "over the measure") would save so much time.

Up to version 4.6.5 it was possible with a trick (D.S. was editable and possible to align centered over the measure, but not in a first measure of a line)...

I know this feature is possible to add (as it is possible to align the bar numbers centered over the measures), and it should't be too dificult

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by examining the existing bar-number centering behavior and the text-placement workflow, using the attached PDF as the visual reference. Done means manually entered text can be centered over a measure, including repeated measures and the first measure of a line.
