Your idea
Handling of bar numbers in conjunction with invisible/cutaway bars should be made more flexible.
Problem to be solved
Some examples:
Don't show bar numbers above/below invisible/cutaway bars (#30253, #30259, #32724):
Take brackets/initial system barlines into account (consider also #32886):
Consider different bar number positions/alignments:
Allow optionally aligning bar numbers across a system despite the presence of cutaway bars:
