Error messages at startup of AppImage

Description with steps to reproduce

1. Download Linux AppImg
2. make it executable.
3. from command line, run the AppImg.
4. Observe error messages in the terminal.

The below messages are included in the terminal window, including severa "ERROR". There shouild be no error messages.
