Your idea

Dear MuseScore Development Team,
I would like to propose a feature request that would significantly enhance professional engraving and academic workflows: Independent Staff Display (multiple concurrent score views).
Currently, MuseScore allows multiple windows of the same score, but the views remain largely synchronized in terms of staff visibility and layout context. For advanced workflows—especially in orchestral engraving, academic teaching, and research environments—it is often necessary to display different visual contexts of the same score simultaneously.
Use Case Examples

This feature would not only benefit professional engravers but also educators and researchers who rely on comparative and multi-context score visualization.
I teach MuseScore at the university level and plan to continue proposing feature enhancements based on long-term professional engraving experience. MuseScore’s rapid development over the past decade demonstrates a strong responsiveness to user-driven improvements, and I believe this feature would meaningfully elevate advanced workflow capabilities.

1. Two-monitor setup:
   ◦ Monitor 1: Full score overview
   ◦ Monitor 2: Focused view on a specific staff or part at a different zoom level
   2. Simultaneous score and part editing:
   ◦ Full score visible for structural context
   ◦ Individual part displayed independently for detailed spacing and layout refinement
   3. Research and pedagogy:
   ◦ Comparative layout analysis
   ◦ Real-time demonstration of orchestration decisions while keeping global context visible
