Description

Your idea

I don't like the percussion interface in its current state. It takes up too much space and blocks off a large chunk of the left side panels with the palettes and properties. Having the layout set to 4 columns doesn't even make a difference; it in fact wastes more space than needed.

Problem to be solved

Just a simple resizing of the percussion interface layout would make light years of a difference. The green box is a suggestion of how I think this UI should appear, with the left-side panel fully visible.

Research direction

Start by locating the percussion interface and the left-side palettes and properties panels in the desktop application, then compare the current layout with the attached screenshot. Done means the percussion interface uses space more efficiently, the left-side panel remains fully visible, and a four-column layout no longer wastes space.
