Description
Your idea
Allow the user to reserve a channel for listening to his/her MIDI keyboard input. For example, to get the right groove for a bass line it is invaluable to be able to play back the piece and improvise ideas without inputting notes.
Problem to be solved
Demoing ideas from the MIDI keyboard during playback is not possible

Research direction
The issue names no files, tests, or entry points; start by locating MuseScore's MIDI input and playback handling. Done would require reserving a channel for keyboard monitoring during playback without recording notes, with coverage for that behavior.
