Description

Your idea

I tried playing a song from MuseScore. It has a piano and a bass. I set the MIDI output to a physical MIDI keyboard, but the bass is played as a piano. It does the same with other instruments (tested on Cello and Violin).

Problem to be solved

The instruments would not be solely played as a piano.

Research direction

No source file or test is named in the issue. Start by locating MuseScore's MIDI output handling and existing instrument/channel mapping, then verify the behavior with a score containing piano, bass, cello, or violin routed to a physical MIDI keyboard. Done means MIDI output sends the requested instrument program changes rather than always using piano.
