Description
Your idea
I would like to have support for modulation wheel midi event and changing midi channels in the midi mapping section.
Problem to be solved
When I write music in musescore, I want to change the duration of note and silence regularly. I want to add dotted note as well.
As a owner of a small midi keyboard, I don't have much buttons to help me change the duration of a note. I would like to use wheel or using midi channels to control muse score.
I would like to see in the midi mapping section of the settings the option to map a note duration to a certain midi channel for instance.
I would have a white note on channel 1 and a black note on channel 2 for instance.
Prior art
At the moment, I'm using the mouse to click on the note duration that I want but it distract me away from the midi keyboard
Additional context
I'm using a midi keyboard like this one https://www.arturia.com/store/fr/microlab-mk3

Research direction
No source files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by locating the MIDI mapping section in settings and the MIDI input handling, then determine how modulation-wheel events and MIDI channels should map to note durations; done should include both requested mapping options working in MuseScore.
