Options to Filter/Customise Screen Reader Verbosity

Your idea

Preferences for what the screen reader speaks or does not speak when navigating a score. A list of items that can be selected/deselected such as lyrics, articulation, measure number, note values, etc and a quick way with shortcuts or an application key menu to toggle each on and off.

Problem to be solved

At the moment when working on a score as a blind user it can be very hard to focus on the bit of info you need amongst all the information being presented aurally at the same time as hearing the notes. Sometimes this is also very slow if the info you need is quite a way through the speech string.

If the user was able to customise what they need to hear for each situation, for example for me marking harmony I only need note names, it would significantly cut down the brain strain.

Prior art

Lime Aloud (Part of the GoodFeel Suite by Dancing Dots) allows the user to select/deselect from a list in a menu that filters speech like this. There are customisable shortcut keys for each filter item in the menu to toggle on/off.
