Description
Your idea
Most users have a clear preference of what chord symbols they want to use. It would be great to allow defining which chord symbol to use and apply that on imported or existing files.
Problem to be solved
When importing files and looking to apply the preferred chord symbol format, that has to be done manually which is time consuming and inefficient.
Prior art
Iirc Sibelius indeed allowed for a preferred chord symbol appearance.
This is Dorico documentation about Chord symbol appearance presets: https://archive.steinberg.help/dorico/v3/en/dorico/topics/notation_reference/notation_reference_chord_symbols/notation_reference_chord_symbols_appearance_presets_r.html
Additional context
Example: user may prefer C^7 notation over Cmaj7. Applying users preferred chord symbol to a score would be a great feature. Obviously this is a complex feature request as it requires new UI.

The issue does not identify any files, tests, or entry points. First clarify the preferred chord-symbol variants, the settings UI, and how the preference should apply to imported and existing scores; done should include a defined workflow for applying the selected notation.
