Description

Your idea

Please add feature that would add a bar count for a group of repeated measures. See image below taken from Tchaikovsky Nutcracker Suite, VC part.

MeasureCounting

Problem to be solved

In orchestral music there are often large numbers of repeated measures. It would be very helpful to be able to add counts for these repeated measures, automatically. In professionally produced music these measures are counted. In MuseScore I have to add them as either Text or as "Lyrics". Neither of these methds are very neat and they are quite time consuming!

Prior art

I am aware that Lilypond can do this, but I'm not very good at using Lilypond!
I have looked for this facility and for a Feature request, but haven't found anything in MuseScore Github. Apologies if it is there!

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating how repeated measures and measure-related text are represented in MuseScore, then determine the intended counting behavior from the issue and image; done should be an automatic, professionally styled count for groups of repeated measures.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.
