Your idea
I'd like to see chord symbols like "3" or "/F" to reference the previous 'real' chord symbols, e.g. turn an earlier "C4" into a "C3" or a "C" into a "C/F" (no idea whether such a chord exists, but I think you get the idea), for playback.
Problem to be solved
I've seen that kind of shortened writing in numerous sheets I've transcribed/copied and so far either spelled them out or used invisible chord symbols for their playback.
