Name: Note that this name is not affected by any changes made to the instrument name in the score.
There doesn't seem to be any way to change the name displayed in the mixer. I can change Long instrument name, short instrument name, part name, but not the mixer name? Why?
Problem to be solved
If I use VST to change a piano staff to sound like a synth, the mixer channel should say "Synth". It's a synth now. It's not "Piano 7"
I use the mixer to keep track of what I'm working with. I'm not going to commit to memory that Piano 7 is the Synth. Or start counting the staves to guess which mixer channel has the synth

Research direction
No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by tracing how the Mixer obtains and displays an instrument or channel name, then investigate how instrument names are edited in the score; done means a VST-altered staff can show a user-chosen name in the Mixer instead of the original instrument name.
