Your idea
A setting for grace notes to be played earlier or later in time
Perhaps it could be a global setting for a score at first, but eventually I think users should be able to select a primary note with grace notes preceding it, then open a menu to adjust how open those grace notes should be.
Problem to be solved
There are reported issues of grace notes being too rushed

There are also instances when they are too open and loud (like for marching snare)
There are instances when you would want the grace notes to be very open (perhaps for a drumset fill or a timpani part)
